Fall Out Boy is undeniably the best band to ever be named after a minor Simpsons character. Though that's really not saying much when you consider the short, horrible legacy of such bands as Comic Book Guy, Squeaky-Voiced Teen, and the irrepressable mediocrity of Homer's Hairdresser From That One Episode Where He Had Hair. That brings back memories I'd much rather have banished forever.

Still, Fall Out Boy's significance lies with the fact that it brings the concept of Punk to its inevitable, horrifying conclusion. Just as the majestic and noble dinosaur survived millions of years of natural selection to become this:

...so too has punk music undergone a gradual transformation to become more efficient, digestable and user-friendly, in a process that I call suckvolution. Thanks Darwin, you big fag. As time progressed, we watched in horror as The Sex Pistols became The Ramones, which became Green Day, which became Pink, which became Avril Lavigne, which became Fall Out Boy. The next step is Panic! At the Disco, at which point we're all wishing for the apocalyptic meteor which will eventually put an end to it all.

Following is a sample of what Fall Out Boy have brought to the music industry. I've included the lyrics so you can understand what they're saying.
